We continued with our leaf theme this week and explored the different shapes and textures of leaves through leaf rubbing with crayons, we also experimented with brittle vs fresh leaves. We also made leaf necklaces using whole punches and yarn. The Squirrels are working well together during these crafts, taking turn with the limited supplies, offering help or ideas and often being very complimentary of each others work.
We continued adding to our games repertoire by adding, come to my house, freeze tag and revenge tag. We have a diverse group of game players and it is always fun when we find games that work for everyone, or for some of the children that are more reserved in their participation. Ask your Squirrel which game they loved.
During free time the Squirrels mostly spent time in the kitchen, a few explored the tools or collected sticks or stayed making leaf necklaces but by the end everyone ended up working together on a recipe. We observed the Squirrels dividing up tasks, communicating ideas and offering up jobs to the new comers joining. Everyone seemed to be involved, ask your Squirrel what role they played.
