April has been a month of fun, exploration and learning for the squirrels class. We honed our tool skills by carving candles and potatoes and worked on using a hammer and nails. We studied the Robin, a bird we often see on the bluff by reading books, looking closely and creating bird art. We also made bird feeders to hang up around the bluff for our feathered friends to enjoy.

As the weather warmed up we went bug hunting and kept data about the different types of bugs we spotted around the Bluff. We also made seed bombs to plant native species of wildflowers in our own gardens at home. We had fun climbing up the big hill, playing eye spy and rolling allllll the way down.

We made our own paint of of sidewalk chalk and different natural items with mallets and mortars, made some interesting dicoveries (fossils? Bones?) made swords with knives, paint and yarn, made nature patterns with solar paper and played lots of games, read lots of books, and had lots of fun together.

April was a great month.
