Fire would be the perfect word to sum up our class. It was the perfect day to have mitts off and sit practicing our fire skills. We started with learning about different types of fire starter, cotton, wax, petroleum jelly, paper, cardboard and mixing them together. Ask if your child had a favorite one? After making a pop can stove we made the ultimate fire starter which we hope to burn next week. We continues practicing our match lighting and getting comfortable holding the match instead of immediately dropping it. The Squirrels are getting the hang of which size wood to feed the fire and next week we practice constructing the different shapes.
During free time, the Squirrels worked together to rescue a car tire and they played games in the bike track.
