We had a lovely time on Prince's Island this week, exploring, rock hunting, and noticing all the new plants and animals that have appeared with the warm weather. We learned the calls of several songbirds and caught sight of some of them (red-winged blackbirds) . We saw the local muskrat, who visited us in the winter too!

We also enjoyed running around in the open park space, and are building our skills with more competitive team games, like 10 Pass, as well enjoying old favourites like Rock, Paper, Scissors Tag. It was Dori's last day with us, so we said goodbye with the cards we had made for her. We're grateful for the stories she has shared and the beading skills she's helped the class to develop.

Connecting Questions:

  • What animals or plants did you notice?

  • What is your strategy for Rock, Paper, Scissors Tag?
