The Owls took a trip to Prince's Island last class to get ready for our trip to Barrier Lake. We played 'Get Down Mr. President' and 'Squirrel Attack' as a reminder of how fun it can be to stick together.
On our way to the island the Owls were inspired to climb the stairs. Some took the stairs and some took the animal trail alongside the stairs. Everyone made it, but once at the top it was definitley time for a water and snack break while we looked at the mountains.
For the rest of the morning we played Boggle and the game the Calvin made up the previous week. The Owls were fairly competitive, but good sportsmanship prevailed!
After lunch the Owls took a long sit spot where they fed the squirrels and chickadees. A chickadee even landed on Gregory and Anaia's heads!
Free time was spent at the top of the island where the Owls worked on a bridge, tried to catch minnows and took in the sun. The walk back was filled with talk about how to make money for a rafting trip. We will be in touch soon with a date for a tournament/spring market!
