upstreamforestschool

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

We know there are many artists at Forest School and we’d like to invite you to a nature journaling class with Dawn. The class is for children in grade 3 and up.

When: Mondays, May 16, 30, June 6, 13 (No class on Victoria Day, May 23)

Times: 1:30 - 3:30

Where: McHugh Bluff, with possible walking trips

Who: children in grade 3 and up

Cost: $95, including all materials

How to register: see below

John Muir Laws (nature journaler extraordinaire) describes nature journaling as “collecting and organizing your observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a notebook using words, pictures and numbers.” We will do just that.

What to Expect:

Through a mix of writing, drawing, watercolour painting and games we will get to know the bluff in a new way while building our observational skills and curiosity. Every class we will learn a journaling technique that can be used anywhere so you can continue nature journaling at home, in city parks, wherever you are. During our last class we will visit Prince’s Island Park to try journaling in a different natural space and hopefully sketch the baby goslings.

To express your interest, please email info.upstreamforestschool@gmail.com before April 1. You will be notified by April 8 with registration confirmation.
