Foxes, March 4th

The morning was spent playing sneaking, sleuthing games. We started with an easier hiding and finding game to get the Foxes warmed up. It's hard to hide on the bluff at the moment, but the Foxes are good at being stealthy. We are working on mapping and compass skills and so challenged the Foxes to an elaborate game of manhunter. Ask your Fox if they found it difficult to orientate themselves on the map or read the compass directions.
We also played a competitive game of Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie. The teams were evenly matched and Julien the ref was strict but fair. It's not always easy adhering to the ref calls.
In the afternoon we joined the Squirrels class for some parachute games. The Foxes were really great at being gentle with the Squirrels and helping them understand the games.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in free play where weapons and currency was made to trade amongst the class. Once money is brought into the equation it is difficult to weigh the value of things. The Foxes had some great discussions around money, value, bartering, equity and trade.
