Happy Halloween Everyone! Thanks for being such good sports and trying all the games, eating strange stuff and getting gunky! There are ALOT of photos this week so keep scrolling...
From Safiya:
The Coyotes had an amazing Halloween week at Forest School. We tried so many new and different activities that we had never tried before. I had been expecting the same activities as last year but I was pleasantly surprised with the many different challenges that our teachers prepared for us! The Fear Factor game had lots of new (and gross) foods that some Coyotes were eager to try, while others were a little hesitant. I really enjoyed the Flour and Cupcake game, and thought that they were delicious ways to encourage us to step out of our comfort zones. To finish off our day we played the iconic ‘Walk of Fear’ with some new gross additions. I really enjoyed Halloween at Forest School this year and can’t wait to keep challenging myself to step outside of my comfort zone.
From Mika:
I ate some pretty disgusting foods today. It's a Halloween tradition to play land mine, where there is a four by four grid that you have to find the exit to, by stepping on the right squares. Every time you step on a square not part of the pre made safe pass that only Ms. Dawn knows, you "blow up".
The Halloween punishment is eating one of the strange or disgusting foods, a new one each time you blow up. Here's a ranking of everything, since I tried it all. We are still on the hunt to find something I won't try!
Worst: Wet cat food...fishy, terrible texture and flavor
11th place: Duck egg...the yolk was awful.
10th place: Spicy pepper...just very spicy
9th place: Liver pate...purposeful low quality makes it very gross.
8th place: Chestnut...I really disliked the texture, but the flavour was fine.
7th place: Vienna Sausage...just a very bad canned sausage
6th place: Crab chips...a little fishy, but good. Vienna Sausage...just a very bad canned sausage
5th place: Baby Food...fruity!
4th place: Ding Dong snack mix: Corn nuts and peas, good!
3rd place: Oddly flavored chips...good!
2nd place: Peanut punch...tastes like chocolate milk with a peanut flavor instead of chocolate.
1st place: Cottage cheese biscuits...delicious, tastes just sweet and milky.
We also had a few fun Halloween games throughout the day; the cupcake game, the flour game, the walk of fear!
I won't forget trying to eat a cupcake covered in whipping cream hanging on a string with no hands or slowly cutting away flour from its shape and eventually plunging my face in for a chocolate almond! Not always the best deal, but it's worth it for the memories!
Manhunt was awesome, with a new larger area and now we want to play a large scale game throughout Sunnyside, if we can arrange it!

Those videos were comedic gold!
