This week, we started off the day with a trip to Prince's Island (but this time remembering to have multiple layers in case it was warmer than expected), hoping to find alder cones to make a dye for our ongoing quilt project. Immediately, we got side tracked and went sledding for a while before continuing on to the wetlands area. Sadly, we did not find any cones and got distracted by the ice, starting really carefully until we got confident that the ice was indestructible, (except for Anaia's slipping) spending a while heading to an island and eventually trying to break the ice.

After this we headed back to the sledding hill and played several rounds of give me give me give me - a mix of soccer, hand ball, rugby, and football. We walked back to the cabin and ate lunch then had a fire at Sammy’s (new Edinburgh) park. On the campfire we cooked bannock and boiled (attempted to at least) snow, to mix with semi-crushed mountain ash berries we had collected a few years before. We did this for unknown reasons (or I wasn’t listening?) probably to make dye though. Then we had to say goodbye to Maryam : (  (please come back.) And then the day was over, although it felt very quick.
