Cottontails, November 6th

The Cottontails are lucking out with the wonderful weather this year! For weeks we have ended the Cottontails with a little Rose & Crown debrief and the only thorn we have heard is that it's the end of the day (oh and unfortunately today a magpie ate Breanne's bagel so that was added to the thorns.) Hopefully father winter eases us into colder temperatures.

After reading from 'A Wolf Called Wander' the class excitedly went to the top of the bike park to roll Priya's pumpkin down. The Cottontails made many plans for the pumpkin, but to their surprise it broke apart on its first role down. The pieces of pumpkin were gathered and used for pumpkin muffins in the mud kitchen and islands of lava in a made up Super Mario course.

The slack line was set up today and the Cottontails took turns using it like a trampoline. It was much easier to cross when they went one by one, but there were many more giggles when there were three at a time. Mrs. Anika also introduced us to a new came which had the Cottontails shaking hands and falling dead in the leaves. During free time the tool circle was a big hit and Breanne learned how to finger crochet.

The day ended with a shared journal activity. Ask your Cottontail what they thought about drawing in others' journals and how they liked their art piece at the end.
