Cottontails, May 3

upstreamforestschool

Today the Cottontails learned a new knot, the Marlin Spike, which we used to make a rope ladder. We sheltered from the hot sun under a big tarp and our roof soon became an invitation to a new game of stuffy rescue where stuffies were tossed on top and then had to be retrieved by climbers on the tarp's edges or people below who lifted the roof so the stuffies could slide off.

In the kitchen, several cooks made ladybug food, while builders worked on creating an "ancient log", complete with twine tied around nails to create a handle for lifting. The group also visited a new play spot they call "the mine" where they engaged in lots of imaginative play in the home they are building there together.
