After lunch and story time we headed to the bike track to play some games. It is so icy that running and dodging is a level up in difficulty. This class likes to describe hardship in levels and powering up. Not only are they running on ice, but they are maneuvering over uneven ground...perhaps we have found a new cross fit for kids in nature!
Since we haven't been to the bike track for a while games led into free time, which was pretty much exploring the track and tree house. This evolved into some imaginary games and Super Mario Bros challenges.
Coming together the Cottontails assembled themselves to make a fire. They are getting so good at their fire skills, it was no problem to start one to make popcorn - this time the jiffy pop kind. Avyn also brought marshmallows to share with everyone. I found out later that he had bought the marshmallows with his own money. Thank you Avyn!
The fire died down after cooking and with help from the class, Avyn was able to rebuild the fire from ashes. Well done to everyone who worked together to bring life back to the fire. With a renewed fire we melted wax to make candles. Some of the candles didn't go quite as planned, but from what we learned the Cottontails are keen to try painting with wax on canvas next week. This is their idea. We will see how it works!
