What a gorgeous winter day! We started off with a nice walk, heading west to take advantage of the hill in Rosedale Park for sledding. The group quickly split into two with everyone grabbing their preferred sled. They came back together toward the end to see how fast and far each person could go. Ask your child about which type of sled the preferred and if they had any thoughts about what made that sled better.
Returning to our usual meeting spot we set to work building two small fires so we could roast marshmallows and apples. We talked about fire safety, some chopped wood, and others built fires or took on the exciting role of lighting the kindling. Ask your child what they learned about building a fire, starting it, or keeping it going. At the end of the day we were able to squeeze in more sledding and even the creation of a snow family - pictured below.
